Instructor Profiles

These are our instructors/senior ranking club members:

Don Came Name: Don Came BSc (Hon's) 6 th dan Kissaki-Kai, 5 th dan ISOK, 3 rd dan Wado-Ryu, LETS ( UK ) Certified Instructor. Don Came has been actively involved in the martial arts since 1976. He has acted as a civilian instructor for a Metropolitan Police karate club and taught successful self-defence courses for the Crime Prevention Office in South London .

Constantly looking to improve his base knowledge and refine his skills as a martial artist, Don completed an honours degree in exercise science at Brighton University in 1997. This has provided an understanding of biomechanics, physiology and psychology which continues to influence the development of the Academy and its students.

Formerly a member of the renowned "International Institute of Kyusho Research" before becoming a fully fledged Kissaki-Kai Instructor, he has been at the cutting edge in the research, rediscovery and further development of the effective self-defence techniques found within the fixed forms (kata) of karate since 1997.

Don has collaborated with the Eastbourne Borough Council to develop a pilot scheme for a youth protection programme aimed at helping young people who have been victims of, or are considered at risk of, physical violence.

In demand as a freelance physical intervention consultant, Don regularly provides specialised training courses for companies in the private sector.

Tom Peeling Name: Tom Peeling LSSM 2 nd dan Kissaki-Kai, 1 st dan Wado-Ryu, LETS ( UK ) Certified Instructor.

Tom is an experienced Sussex based Karate Instructor who has trained in Europe and the USA.

A popular teacher in the Martial Arts and Personal Protection fields, he is one of only four LETS certified instructors practicing in the UK today.

Tom is a fully qualified sports massage therapist and formerly a fencing coach with the AFA.

Kayhan Etebar Name:Kayhan Etebar 1 st dan Kissaki-Kai, LETS ( UK ) Certified Instructor.

Having trained in the United Kingdom , Belgium and the United States , Kayhan brings a wealth of experience to the team.

He is actively involved in teaching Karate as a self-defence medium and has worked on the "Youth Protection Programme" with the EBC. Kayhan is a LETS certified Instructor.

Damon Cank Name: Damon Cank 1 st dan Kissaki-Kai

Damon has trained in Belgium and the United Kingdom, he has a pragmatic and functional approach to his analysis of kihon and kata born from his experience as an engineer.


Vince Morris

Name: Vince Morris BA (Hon's) 8th Dan

With more than 50 years experience, Vince Morris is a leading authority in the world of martial arts and his effective no nonsense approach to his art has earned him worldwide respect. He regularly teaches Tactical Officer Protection courses at the Antwerp Police Academy and for a variety of other Law Enforcement agencies & has received citations for his extraordinary skills along with the acknowledgement that these skills have saved lives!

Always concerned with making the art of karate as effective as he knew it could be, Vince developed Kissaki-Kai Karate, and by utilising his knowledge of pressure points and the rules of combat has seen it develop into a well-rounded system of personal protection. Vince Morris has influenced many of todays leading instructors both directly and indirectly via his teaching and numerous books and videos on applied karate.

Kissaki-Kai has branch Dojo all over the world, in Europe and from China to the USA. Now based in America at the Kissaki-Kai Honbu Dojo, Vince continues to oversee the development of Kissaki-Kai Karate-Do International
